Hello,
Will my new B7800 handle a 60 in box scraper? My old box is a 48 in but I would like to get one wide enough to cover the rear tread of my B7800.
Thanks,
John

They make a 54 inch model for this class of tractor. I just traded my way into a 54" Landpride to replace the 48" Gearmore that I had.
The track on my Deere 4115 is 49 inches wide. ....

A 54 in box might be cutting it a bit close as the tread with on the B7800 is 54 inches. I am not sure if the 7800 has enough weight and power to pull a 60 in box. Anybody out there using a 60 in box scraper with a 7800 or a 2910??
Thanks,
John ....

I use one on my B2410. The only time I have a traction issue is when I have the scarifiers too low, or the tilt too far down, otherwise it does a decent job. Going backwards with too much blade though I find myself digging in and stalling. ....

Sorry. I didn't think the B7800 was significantly wider than my 4115.
You should match the box scraper to the tractor width. ....

I have a 60" Befco boxblade on my 7800 and it will pull it with the scarifiers all the way down without much of a problem unless the ground it muddy or really wet. I have loaded R-4's for the tires on the tractor. ....

Well it looks like I need to start shopping for a new 60 in box scaper. Thanks for all your help! I just got the 7800 to replace my old 1750. So far I have added 3 work lights. rear hydraulics and am in the process of mounting a TNT system. I will post some pictures when I get is all done.
Thanks again.

Loading the R4 tires on mine may overcome the traction problems I have, I wind up digging holes with the tires if I dig too deep. ....

I am pulling a 60" w/my B7610 (24hp) with loaded R-4's and LA352 FEL. With proper ballast, you will have no problems. Need sufficient weight up front also. The boxes vary a lot in weight, sideplate thickness, moldboard height and internal volume. Check all of that out, they are not equal. ....
